Digital Learning Day: Lesson Plans, Tools & Ideas

What will you do with your students on March 13th?

If you need ideas about how to enhance learning and student engagement by embedding technology into your instruction, take a look at what one of our teachers does with her literacy students. We've also included links to social studies, language arts, STEM lesson plans and tools to help you try something new on Digital Learning Day.

Lyette Olson, a 4th grade teacher at Peoria Elementary School, has worked closely with her Ed Tech coach to increase student engagement while maintaining high academic expectations through the use of Google Classroom and Google Docs. She explained that using this medium to deliver instruction and assignments helped set the stage for opportunities where she and her students were able to:
  • collaborate with peers
  • move at their own pace
  • give/get immediate feedback
  • have choice in how they showed their learning
  • access assignments from anywhere & from any device
  • create a portfolio of their work and see progress over time
  • share real time progress with their teacher, peers and parents
Both Google Classroom and Google Docs are available via your @aurorak12.org district accounts. Contact your EdTech coach and join our APS Educational Technology VLC, if you have questions or need help getting started.
